Privacy
Your offers, settings, and personal info never leave your phone. They're saved in your browser, and only you can see them.
DashCalc is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub keeps its own logs, like your IP address, and I can't see any of it. Here's GitHub's privacy statement.
DashCalc is for people 18 and older.
Got a privacy question? Ask it on GitHub Issues.
Visit counting
This is the only data we collect. We use GoatCounter, a light-weight, privacy-focused visit counter. It only counts visits to the real site, never copies of it. Here's everything it gets:
- Page views: which page you opened, and the site you came from.
- First visit: once ever per browser, the first time you open DashCalc.
- First use: once ever per browser, the first time you grade an offer.
- Active week: at most once a week, when you graded offers on 2 or more days in the last 7, or 5 or more offers in one day.
What never leaves your phone: offers, pay, miles, vehicle information, settings, ID, no user information is collected, other than strictly the usage metrics above.
The site keeps a small note of when you first use the app so we don't collect it multiple times.
The setup page contains a toggle to turn off the visit count information collected.
Terms
Using DashCalc means you agree to these.
- Who it's for: drivers in the US, 18 and older.
- Safety first: only type in offers when you're safely stopped. Never while driving nor in any hazardous condition.
- Estimates only: every number here is a best guess. It's not tax, money, or legal advice. For your real taxes, talk to a tax expert.
- You decide: the grade is a suggestion. Which offers you take is always your call.
- As-is: DashCalc comes as-is, with no promise that it's right or always works. I'm not responsible for money lost or choices made using it.
- Your data, your phone: your Journal and settings live only in your browser. Clearing your browser data or switching phones erases them, and I can't get them back. Tap Back up in the Journal to keep a copy.
- Not affiliated: DashCalc isn't connected to or approved by DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, Instacart, or any delivery app. Their names belong to them.
- Tips: tips on Ko-fi are gifts. They don't buy anything extra, and Ko-fi's own terms apply. Want your tip to go only to DashCalc? Say so in your Ko-fi message.
- Changes: I can change, pause, or stop DashCalc anytime. If these terms change, the date at the top changes too. Using DashCalc after that means you're OK with the new version.
- The code: DashCalc is open source under the AGPL-3.0 license. These terms cover using the site, and the license covers the code.
- The law: these terms follow Washington State law, and any dispute gets handled in Washington courts.
- Questions: ask on GitHub Issues.
